Belonging to the ginger family, turmeric contains a mix of phenolics known as curcumin which is a strong anti-inflammatory and anti -parasitic agent. Due to its powerful anti-oxidant properties curcumin is also effective in neutralising free radicals and helps the body destroy mutated cancer cells.
