Since the beginning of time herbs and plants have been used to support biological functions. Our Butcher's Blend is added to all our complete meals and contains a selection of naturally occurring herbs with the trace elements, vitamins and minerals required for optimum health.
Kelp - this organic highly nutritious sea vegetable, rich in vitamins and minerals, has a beneficial effect on your dog’s digestive system. As well as helping to maintain a healthy skin and coat, the rich mix of iodine and minerals in kelp makes it an ideal supplement to help keep your dog’s entire glandular system, particularly the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands, in healthy working order. Ensuring a balanced metabolism is key to maintaining your dog’s healthy weight.
Dandelion - one of nature’s medicinal power-houses, dandelion is one of the richest green vegetable source of β-carotene, from which vitamin A is created. It is also particularly rich in fibre, potassium, iron, calcium,magnesium, phosphorous, B vitamins (especially thiamine and riboflavin). A natural diuretic, dandelion can also be beneficial in cases of arthritis, kidney stones and gall bladder diseases.
Milk Thistle - is a powerful antioxidant and helps to protect the liver against harmful oxidation.
Alfalfa - rich in nutrients and minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium and carotene. As well as nourishing the digestive, skeletal, glandular, and urinary systems alfalfa is known for its anti-oxidant properties.
Nettle leaf - this rich source of anti-fungal and anti-viral phyto-nutrients ()such as chlorophyll, sterols, polyphenols, lignans and gallic acid) has long been used for its positive benefits to the body. Nettle is a natural anti-histamine and may alleviate allergic symptoms in dogs. It is also good for skin and coat condition, improved circulation and kidney function.
Turmeric - belonging to the ginger family, turmeric contains a mix of phenolics known as curcumin which is a strong anti-inflammatory and anti -parasitic agent. Due to its powerful anti-oxidant properties curcumin is also effective in neutralising free radicals and helps the body destroy mutated cancer cells.
Spirulina - this microscopic algae contains arguably the highest concentration of nutrients known in any food, plant or herb. It has a high concentration of β-carotene, vitamin B-12, iron and trace minerals and the omega-6 fatty acid GLA. It contains a number of unique phyto-nutrients, polysaccharides and sulpholipids that enhance the immune system and is rich in natural carotenoid anti-oxidants that promote cellular health.
Rosemary - has strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatoryproperties Thisgood-for-dogs herb is high in fiber, iron, calcium, and Vitamin B6.Thyme - thyme acts as an anti-bacterial agent as well as improving digestion and, as in human food, adding flavour.
